Why do people come to Crossroads?

Many individuals who seek help at Crossroads typically want assistance with issues that are interfering with their daily lives - issues that are keeping them from leading a fulfilling life. Life itself is often unpredictable and filled with painful events that can cause us to feel a sense of confusion and hopelessness. Reducing stress, adapting to change, managing responsibilities, and enjoying relationships can be challenging.

At Crossroads, we take care to approach each individual with compassion, understanding, and support. We know that asking for help is often not an easy thing to do, but it may be one of the most important and healthful decisions you make. We are dedicated to giving each patient the care that enables them to face difficulties with renewed confidence and hope.

Crossroads is a group of caring mental health professionals who treat a range of problems, integrating medical, psychological, social and spiritual principles. Our staff includes psychiatrists, a psychologist and professional counselors who believe that the whole person should be considered- body, mind, and spirit. We feel especially prepared to help Christians integrate faith and treatment. However, persons of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome and can be certain that where these beliefs are known, they will be respected.

Common concerns include:

  • Depression, mood swings, sleep, appetite changes
  • Anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, stress
  • Grief, loss and recovery from abuse and trauma
  • Alcohol, drug and other addictive behaviors; eating disorders, body image
  • Schizophrenia, dementia, and less severe problems in thinking such as ADD
  • Adjustment to chronic medical problems such as diabetes, heart disease and chronic pain
  • Relationship problems, parenting concerns, marital and sexual issues, and marriage preparation
  • Adolescent counseling
